I’m trying to see which site offers the most for its consumer’s for investing/trading with stcoks and bonds etc…

Scottrade is the best site for beginners, $7 a trade, and only $500 to open an account. Easy to use web interface, and includes some decent research.

For more experienced traders with more $$, Interactive Broker is the best.

Is there a stock trading site/company that charges monthly/one time fee and lets unlimited trades?

I had accounts with some companies which would charge a specific amount/trade. I rather pay a monthly fee and do a number of trades, than pay fee/trade. Just curious….. I am sure some of you out there have already explored this…..

It’s a great idea to start with jut a little money so that way you can get some experience with trading in the real market, yet at the same time not have to worry about risking a lot. In order to do this, you’ll have to find a stock broker that does not require any minimum account deposits. I currently use Firstrade http://www.firstrade.com/ and they do not have any minimums. I like them very much so I would definitely recommend you to check them out.

i want to invest money in stocks. i already know what companies i want to invest in, so i dont need to consult anyone. i want to do everything online so i can manage my own money and trade as i please. i want to be able to buy stocks one day, sell the next, or sell the next year. i want a website that will let me trade freely without docking me here and there for everything. what websites would you recommend for buying and selling stocks? what are the catches? where are they going to try to coin money?

Personally, I think sogotrade is best among all online brokerages. You can get a lot of free trades: about 100 free trades with 500 minimum deposits. It has very good customer services, it also has live help, and you can chat with representatives about any question. After that, only 3 dollar for each trade, pretty sweet when compared with other online brokerages.

BuyandHold’s web site says they offer trading in 4,100 stocks. That is not every stock on the "market." They say if you want to suggest a new stock for them to trade, it must sell for over $1.00, be listed on NYSE, AMEX or NASDAQ. Since CHB was over a dollar at one time, they may have accepted trades in it. Now it is under a dollar, you can sell what was previously bought thru them, but they don’t offer (to buy) the stock any more. As it trades under $1,00, it may soon be delisted from the NYSE and moved to the bulletin board or pink sheets, which buyandhold does not handle.

I used IDBIPaisabuilder, RelianceMoney, Sharekhan, IndiaInfoline.

Of these, I liked Sharekhan and IndiaInfoline the best.

Sharekhan takes huge brokerage charges. But has got a beautiful web trade facility, thru which you can trade from anywhere. Thats the only advantage.

India Infoline dosent has a web trade facility. There is an installation setup, which you need to install before using it. But the advantages of IndiaInfoline are:
Low brokerages
Very user friendly terminal
Good tips that flow right into your trading terminal.
