Can the currently market volatility be explained by the EMH?

By admin · June 29, 2010 · Filed in Uncategorized · 3 Comments »

I don’t understand why the markets are so volatile right now. People already know there is a problem with the subprime market and sold off on that news. Then some good news comes out and the market rallies, but then some more bad news comes out and it tanks.

Are all stocks really fairly valued based on all currently available information or is this an anomaly? More importantly, what should an average investor do about it?

name of the 1929 stock market trading regulation which recently was removed by the Bush administration?

By admin · June 27, 2010 · Filed in Uncategorized · 3 Comments »

This regulation was enacted after the 1929 stock market crash to avoid wild volatility in the market and to prevent excessive "shorting" on stocks. Late last winter, about 1st quarter, Jan-February- early March, the Bush administration quietly deleted this regulation. We have had market turmoil ever since. This issue needs to be widely publicized so that the situation can be corrected. many investors like myself, are averse to the kind of wild swings we have been experiencing since, and have opted out of the market, to avoid further. Jim Cramer explained this action on a daytime section on CNBC sometime after it happened. very few people are even aware that this has happened, while the market has careened with dangerous volatility. What was the name of this regulation? It began with a "B", such as Bostick, or something similar. This issue has not received the attention it deserves. I want the right name when I (and I hope other individual investors) email my Congressmen.

By admin · June 25, 2010 · Filed in Uncategorized · 2 Comments »

I really would like to invest and i wouldnt mind looking for diamonds in the rough and that sort of thing, i dont have a ton of money (being that i am a student and really would like to start small and eventually go big with some stock investing), i am aware of the commission fees of most of the companies, but i know there are minimum deposits on some (such as td ameritrade is about 2 grand, and scott trade is 5,000 or something like that, but ive heard everything) but if someone could clarify all of this for me and tell me the minimum deposits for the online trading sites like etrade, scotttrade, td ameritrade, and other sites that other may not know about. Thanks.

Where do you see futures prices heading for gold and silver commodities, over the next few months?

By admin · June 25, 2010 · Filed in Uncategorized · 2 Comments »

With the huge stock market drops in recent weeks, as well as overall high stock market volatility, silver futures have taken a HUGE hit, and Gold dropped a little bit as well. Does anyone have any opinion/idea on what direction the prices of gold and silver will head in, over the next few months? Thanks!
